Waiting Game for Barnes & Thornburg Lateral Hires

Reports that a group of litigators who gave notice at Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon on Oct. 1 are being forced to wait out a 90-day notice period before heading to their new home at Barnes & Thornburg left some observers surprised that Wildman is enforcing a clause that’s commonly found in partnership agreements but rarely raised. Wildman’s general counsel claims that the furor over the departures is much ado about nothing, saying the firm is merely conducting due diligence and protecting its clients.
