U.S. Judge Sanctions Lawyer Over Emotional Distress Suit
A federal judge has sanctioned a lawyer for pressing a claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress in an employment case. Noting the attorney’s use of such claims in similar cases, the judge said the attorney had a history of “filing briefs laden with inaccuracies; ignoring controlling precedent; and disregarding the court’s authority.”
