Louisiana Appeals Panel Affirms $ 2.7M Award In Workplace Death Action

LAKE CHARLES, La. – A Louisiana Court of Appeal panel on Nov. 2 upheld a $ 2,725,571 judgment for the family of a man killed in a workplace accident, finding no error by the trial court for allowing expert testimony regarding his employer’s knowledge of a possible danger in the workplace (Tynirsha W. Rhine, et al. v. The Bayou Companies LLC, et al., No. CA 11-724, La. App., 3rd Cir.; 2011 La. App. LEXIS 1311).
