Los Angeles Car Accident Injures Five
Five people were injured, one critically, in a Los Angeles car accident that involved two vehicles. According to a report in the Los Angeles Daily News, the injury car accident occurred in the 6000 block of De Soto Avenue in Woodland Hills near the 101 Freeway, the morning of January 9, 2011. Los Angeles city firefighters extricated one person from a vehicle. That individual is believed to be in critical condition. Four others were hospitalized with injuries, but are expected to survive. An investigation is ongoing.
My heart goes out to all five injured victims of this car accident. I wish them all the very best for a quick and complete recovery. The critically injured victim, especially, will be in my thoughts and prayers.

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2008 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System SWITRS, there were 268 fatalities and 25,588 injuries involving car accidents in Los Angeles. Countywide, car accidents claimed 667 lives and injured 52,229 people during the same year.

Based on this news report, it is not quite clear how or why this injury car accident occurred. There are several unanswered questions here. Did one of the vehicles fail to yield right-of-way?
