Lawyer Making New Law on Recovering Fees in Pro Se Disputes

After convincing the Ninth Circuit that her attorney fee award for a federal civil rights claim brought on behalf of her wife did not violate the federal rule against fee awards for pro se attorneys, Natasha Roit has now persuaded the California Court of Appeal that she should recover fees for successfully prosecuting a contempt action both for herself and her wife.
