Judge Finds Federal Court Lacks Jurisdiction Over Apartment Rental Dispute

PHOENIX – An Arizona federal judge on Nov. 17 found that the court lacked jurisdiction over an action that was filed in relation to fraud claims asserted against a tenant because the amount in controversy did not exceed $ 75,000; the judge remanded the case to a county court (Terry Tapp, et al. v. Adebisi Alli, No. 11-2069, D. Ariz.; 2011 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 133070).
