Investment Firm Asks N.Y. Federal Court To Dismiss Shareholder Derivative Suit

NEW YORK – An investment firm being sued by shareholders said in a New York federal court on Jan. 31 that the shareholders’ derivative suit should be dismissed because they have failed to show that the directors and officers of the firm are not independent of their decisions (Brautigam v. Blankfein, et al., No. 11-cv-04544, S.D. N.Y.).
