In Hanford saga, no resolution in sight

After 21 years of litigation, only a few people living downwind of the world’s first full-scale plutonium reactor have received compensation for the huge amounts of radiation the Washington state plant began releasing in 1944 into the air, water and soil. Prospects are dicey for the other 1,500 plaintiffs.
