Filing false liens against officials is now a felony

A new Georgia law makes it a felony to engage in “paper terrorism” by filing false liens against judges, court clerks and other government employees. The law appears to be the first of its kind in any state. A separate law passed by Congress in 2007 makes it a felony to file false liens against federal officials.
