Federal Judge Stays Order Granting Ecuador’s Request For Discovery

DENVER – A Colorado federal judge on Jan. 20 granted a motion for temporary stay of a previous order that granted a request by the Republic of Ecuador to compel production of documents for use in a foreign arbitration case, finding that the public interest was satisfied by granting the stay and that Ecuador would not suffer any irreparable harm as a result (The Republic of Ecuador, et al. v. Bjorn Bjorkman, No. 11-01470, D. Colo.).
