Federal judge dismisses suit against SEC over Madoff investigation failures
A federal judge has dismissed a suit that sought to hold securities regulators accountable for alleged negligence rooted in Bernard Madoff’s fraud. The judge called plaintiffs’ financial losses “undeniably tragic” but found they failed to identify any “mandatory obligations” SEC officials violated during the performance of discretionary duties.
