Conversion row: Mother gets custody
The Ipoh High Court today issued an ex-parte order granting custody of three children who were forcibly converted to Islam by their father to their mother M Indira Ghandi. According to legal advisor A Sivanesan, who was in court today, the order was issued in chambers this afternoon. Currently two of the children Tevi Darsiny, 12 and Karan Dinesh, 11 are with Indira while the youngest child, one-year-old Prasana Diksa, is with her husband K Pathmanathan, who has since assumed the name …
hahahahahaha … for non muslim this is what u get when u vote for PAS ? By next election ill vote for BN rather then voting for this exremist fuckers!!!!
I understand your argument, but you haven’t answered my question! You disagree the court use the term “FORCED”. So tell me, what term you propose??
IntaMalsi, ‘brought up’ my dear, not forced.
Then what about the point where the mom want their children to be Hindus? Do they really want to be Hindus? How would you know for sure?
So can I say that the MOM FORCED her children to be Hindus. Does that sound right? NO. The same goes to the father too. The children wasn’t forced. Their religion follows their parents’ until they 18 years old.
Just that now the problem is the parents are of different religion. Is the matter who has the right over the children.
So if not “FORCED”.. then what?
“Allowed”? “Told”? “Requested”?”Asked”? “Helped?”
What is the proper term to court should have used?
The religion of a child follows their parents until they can decide on their own. In this case it is quite complicated since the parents now have different religion. So I guess logically the religion of the children have to be decided based on which parent has the right of custody over the children.
But I agree the part where this decision has to be done by the Civil Court rather then Syariah since this also involve non-muslim. I’m a muslim myself.
I’m quite disagree with the description of this clip by Malaysiakini saying that the children were FORCED to embrace Islam.
They are not forced. They by definition can’t make any decision by rule ie. after 18 or something before they can decide their own religion.
What about this issue of wanting the children staying as Hindus as per their mother’s religion? Does that mean the children were FORCED to be Hindus then? Who knows what the children actually want? So?? FORCED? … not!!
