Calif. Federal Judge Approves Companies’ Agreement To Pay $ 1.5M For Site Cleanup

FRESNO, Calif. – A federal judge in California on Jan. 5 approved a consent decree in a suit involving California’s Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) and two companies in which the companies agreed to reimburse the agency $ 1.5 million for remediation of a site that was contaminated by herbicides, pesticides and other agricultural chemicals (Department of Toxic Substances Control v. Hercules Inc., et al., No. 96-cv-05879, E.D. Calif.).
